Rosh Hodesh Group
Our next Rosh Hodesh group for the month of Kislev takes place Thursday, November 4, 7-8 pm. This year we'll reflect on Talmud Tales from Ruth Calderon's A Bride for One Night (available from sources including Amazon and The Jewish Publication Society). Tot Shabbat
Friday, November 5, 5-5:30 pm,outside on the plaza on Riverside Boulevard at 66th Street (weather permitting). We look forward to ushering in Shabbat in song and dance with our families with young children. We'll also celebrate Rosh Chodesh Kislev (the new month of Kislev), and encourage kids to wear something with the moon and/or stars on it. All attendees must remain masked.
Fiddler On The Roof at Kristallnacht
Sunday, November 7, 5-6 pm The Adult Education Committee is proud to present a special Kristallnacht event with Habonim Cantorial Soloist Jessica Futran. Jessica, who appeared in the original Fiddler On The Roof Yiddish production at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, will perform songs from
the iconic Fiddler score in both English and Yiddish. She will also share anecdotes about her time in this production and will show the significance of both the show and music to Kristallnacht. The Fiddler on the Roof theme continues on Sunday, November 14, with Habonim At The Movies and a discussion with film critic Matt Fagerholm. Registration and Zoom information will be available soon.
