A Message from Education Director Rina Cohen Schwarz:

We are all looking forward to new beginnings in 5782, back to more normalcy with in-person learning in our Religious School.

One of our core Jewish values is that of Talmud Torah – the study of Torah.  We strive to provide content-rich joyful lessons and programs for our students and families at Habonim.  In order to plan safely for our incoming Religious School classes, we ask that you register your child by Friday, July 16 for returning families.  Please note that tuition has not been increased for the coming year, but for those families who register after July 16, there will be an additional $100 Administrative Fee per child added to your bill.  Once you have completed your enrollment forms, the tuition charges will be added to your ShulCloud statement, and then you have 30 days to pay or make payment plans.  New this year is our refer-a-friend bonus tuition incentive program.  We know that our member families are the BEST source of bringing in new members to our congregation.  If your family brings in a new member family and they enroll their child(ren) in our Religious School, your family will get $180 off of your total tuition bill, and you can earn more than one bonus if you bring in more than one family (earn up to 3 bonuses).  Only one bonus can be earned per new family brought in.  Please email me if you have any questions, or want to connect me with potential members.

If for some reason your child is not returning to our Religious School, please alert us now.

Please complete the registration form for 2021-22 at this link.  The form allows for entry of information for up to 3 children per family.  Membership in the synagogue is required to enroll your child in our Religious School.  If you have any administrative questions about synagogue membership, please reach out to Malkie Grozalsky at mgrozalsky@habonim.net.

· With Bar/Bat Mitzvah on the horizon for all of these students, we want your family to become more familiar with our Shabbat services, and be fully connected to the Habonim community.  As such, we require your family (your Vav/Zayin student together with at least one parent) to attend a minimum of 1-2 Shabbat services every month at Habonim (a minimum of ten Friday evening or Saturday morning Habonim services plus our Bar/Bat Mitzvah services).  We expect that our Vav/Zayin families will celebrate the B’nai Mitzvah of Habonim, and will plan to attend (in person or virtually) our Bar/Bat Mitzvah services through the year.

* Exact timing of classes may be adjusted slightly based on Covid & health safety protocols.

More information about the online Hebrew tutoring for students in 3rd-6th/7th Grades will come out late in the summer.
