ENROLL NOW FOR HABONIM’S RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

FOR THE 5781/2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR!

Shalom Parents

5780 has been a weird, but wonderful year of joyful learning and building our community in the Religious School of Congregation Habonim.  We are in the process of planning for our 5781/2020-21 academic year.  Fantastic programs, classes, services, and other opportunities to be together (virtually and/or in person) as a learning community within Habonim lie ahead for all of our students and families.

Following our successful quick transition to virtual classes this spring, we are planning for a virtual start to the academic year for the Religious School, and will meet on Zoom at least through December, 2020.  We will follow all health and safety guidelines from the local health authorities and our own synagogue lay leadership.  For now, to insure health and safety for all, we will stick to Zoom.

If you have any feedback about this year’s last few months of learning, or possibly some helpful suggestions for our planning, please fill out this survey or email me your own comments and/or suggestions directly rina@habonim.net.

One of our core Jewish values is that of Talmud Torah – the study of Torah.  We strive to provide content-rich joyful lessons and programs for our students and families at Habonim.  Educational plans are underway for the fall of 2020, and in order to plan appropriately for our incoming Religious School classes, we ask that you enroll your child by Tuesday, July 15.  We are in the process of hiring teachers, and need to plan adequately for the coming year. For those families who register after July 15, there will be an additional $100 Administrative Fee added to your bill.  The July 15 deadline is only for completion of your registration form; the charges will then appear on your next Habonim statement.

If for some reason your child is not returning to our Religious School for 2020-21, please alert us now.

Please complete the enrollment form for 2020-21 at this link.  The form allows for entry of information for up to 3 children per family, and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Membership in the synagogue must be current for your enrollment to be processed. If you have any questions about synagogue membership, please reach out to our Director of Administration, Malkie Grozalsky at mgrozalsky@habonim.net.

Hebrew Home Page is the one-to-one online tutoring platform that teaches and reinforces Hebrew reading and comprehension skills to our 3rd – 7th Grade students.  HHP complements our in-school Hebrew curriculum, and has made a tremendously successful impact on our students’ Hebrew language acquisition. Students meet online with their tutor each week for 30 minutes.  24 half-hour sessions of Hebrew Home Page are included in your tuition.  Hebrew Home Page registration information for our Gimmel-Zayin (3rd – 7th Grade) students will come later in the summer, when you will choose your child’s weekly time slot and tutor.  If you have any questions about Hebrew Home Page, please email me.
