Committees at Congregation Habonim
Lay-lead committees are the lifeblood of any synagogue. Habonim has many wonderful committees who plan events, reach out to members, do acts of kindness (chesed) and help with many of the synagogue’s functions.
We’re always looking for volunteers! If you want to join a committee or volunteer your time, please contact the committee chair or the office at office@habonim.net

Adult Education Committee
The Adult Ed Committee strives to organize and present opportunities for our community to learn together about the varied facets of Jewish life, history and culture within NYC, the US and globally. Past events ranged from: a discussion of Jews on Broadway to cookbook recipes gathered from Holocaust survivors to a tour of the recent Anne Frank House exhibit to expert updates on the Middle East and Israel to bringing Jewish firemen to speak to children and adults. In addition, the Adult Ed Committee coordinates Habonim's annual Sukkot dinner and Kristallnacht commemoration. Our aim is to bring together members across our community to learn and connect through shared experiences.
