Celebrate Purim! Purim, the most joyous day in the Jewish calendar, starts on February 25. You may be familiar with the mitzvah of delivering mishloach manot, gifts of food or drink to ensure that everyone has enough food for the Purim feast and to increase love and friendship in the Jewish community. This year, the Sisterhood of Congregation Habonim is pleased to sponsor another Purim mitzvah, matanot l'evyonim -- giving gifts to the poor and supporting charitable organizations. Please celebrate with us through a holiday contribution that will enable Habonim to continue its important work building Jewish community. Gifts in any amount are accepted with gratitude; in honor of Purim please consider Esther - $540, Queen Vashti - $360, Mordechai - $180, Shushan - $72, Megillah - $36. Please click here to donate .
Membership Committee
Habonim Highlight: "It's Dough Time! Wine Not!" What a beautiful evening of community! Thank you to all the women, men, and children who all joined for our casual evening of togetherness. We learned to shape our challahs (thank you, Rina Cohen Schwarz) and appreciate our wines (thank you, Beth Bornstein), while sharing laughs, stories, and experimenting as amateur bakers. Enjoy pictures of some of our culinary successes! More events to come! Please share feedback, ideas, your own talents we can showcase or just reach out to join our committee: membership@habonim.net . The Membership Committee's mission includes improving the membership experience by building on existing relationships through community "self-care" to make Habonim a welcoming destination for existing and new members.
