Gift of Life Marrow Registry
From Rabbi Gelber: Saving a life is an important mitzvah/responsibility and commandment in Judaism. We have been called on to step forward in this way by Congregation Ansche Chesed here on the UWS as they work to find a bone marrow donor for someone in their shul community with rapidly advancing blood cancer. If you have not yet participated in the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, I encourage you to Get Swabbed by registering here . Click on GIft of Life logo for more information.
The Bender Fund
Habonim recently used Bender Fund assets to donate the money necessary to provide 30 Hanukkah food packages to elderly Holocaust survivors who are clients of Self Help Community Services. Click on the Selfhelp logo at left to learn more about the Bender Fund's 50 year history of mitzvahs.
