Torah on Tuesday January 12, 11 am Join our thoughtful and inquisitive group to discuss the weekly parasha on Tuesday mornings. In 5781, we will make use of The Heart of Torah, Rabbi Shai Held's Essays on the Weekly Torah portion. For those who like to have a book in hand, you may wish to purchase either one or both volumes. This week we will look at Va'era #2: Cultivating Freedom: 139,140-141 , 142-143

Rosh Hodesh Group Thursday, January 14, 7 pm This year's Rosh Hodesh group offers women the opportunity to join together and celebrate the new moon and new month. Join Rabbi Lisa Gelber for New Year, New Month: Planting Hope. To mark the new month of Sh'vat, we'll plant seeds - real and imagined. Community Challah Making and Wine Sipping
Thursday, January 21, 7:45 pm It's DOUGH time! WINE not? Join us for a community evening of challah making and shaping, paired with a wine of your choice.
Everyone is welcome - no baking or adult beverage drinking required. Our very own Rina Cohen Schwarz will teach us to shape and braid our challahs and Beth Bornstein will teach us about wine to complement our challahs as we shape and top them for baking. Bring your own dough - recipe can be provided or you can buy store-made dough. Bring your own beverage - suggested wines will be provided.

Join this special event where community members of almost all ages can read or listen to the same book and discuss it in a Zoom gathering. We're reading Brooklyn Bridge by Karen Hesse. It's a fictional story based on the real-life inventors of the Teddy Bear, the Michtom Family, who arrived in Brooklyn from Russia in the late 1880s. Click here to register.
