November 29

On this special day for giving, we hope that you will remember Congregation Habonim with a special Giving Tuesday donation. For those of you who have contributed already in 2022, we are grateful for your support – like most synagogues, fees and tuition are not sufficient to meet our operating budget and Habonim relies on the generosity of our members and other supporters. If you have not had an opportunity to make a donation, or if you have but would like to do more before the year's end, click HERE; you don’t need to wait for November 29 to participate in #GivingTuesday.

Your contribution will support these in-person and virtual activities, adult education, and family events (and more!)

  • We recently resumed Habonim's legendary Shabbat kiddush each Saturday afternoon, and it has been wonderful to see friends gather again over lunch, lox, and laughter.
  • We also resumed serving pizza to our Religious School kids, who need to recharge with food and friends after the school day before diving into our RS classes.
  • Our programming this year is simply fantastic! Recent events have included Havdalah in Pajamas for all ages (s’mores included), and our annual Kristallnacht Commemoration which featured an Anti-Defamation League speaker who discussed the rise of antisemitism. Coming up in December we have Mitzvah Makers Maccabiah (a Hanukkah celebration with team-based activities and projects), a Pre-Hanukkah Friday night dinner, and a virtual tour of the Jewish Museum. Looking ahead into 2023, we have a wine tasting evening, a Lower East Side scavenger hunt, a Middle East Update, Hamentaschen and challah baking, and more to come! Click HERE to keep up to date on all Habonim happenings!
  • We are continuing to provide multi-media technology during our B'nai Mitzvah as well as for Shabbat and High Holy Day services to provide an inclusive and meaningful experience for those who prefer to attend remotely.

To affirm our shul and help us secure our financial future, a gift from each individual Habonim member and supporter will make a difference and be accepted with gratitude. Click here to participate in #GivingTuesday.
