“Ha lev” means “the heart” in Hebrew, and for the past 38 years, Bruce Halev has been the musical heart of Congregation Habonim, raising us up in song and prayer with his melodic voice and unique warmth. Cantor Halev has led our Shabbat and holiday services, prepared our children to become b’nai mitzvah, and shared both the joy and the grief of our life events.
Please join us as we raise our voices to celebrate his distinguished career and deep devotion to Habonim.
This year’s gala will feature:
• Special Performances by Cantor Bruce Halev, Joanie Halev, Jessica Futran, and other special guests
• Tributes from Habonim’s former Rabbis, as well as the Nursery School and Religious School
• A moving montage that highlights our memories of Cantor Halev throughout the years

Bruce Halev, the Musical "LEV" of Habonim
All proceeds will benefit Habonim and the programs that Cantor Halev cares about so passionately, including musical events, Bar and Bat Mitzvah study, adult education, Torah classes and more. The funds will also subsidize membership dues.
